Here are seven moments that we can totally relate to, and made us really fall in love with Winston. But, Winston takes the crepe because he ends up in the weirdest situations and handles them with his own personal style. Yes, we have a special place in our hearts for every single one of these characters. And then there's Jess, who is perfectly quirky and also oh-so-awkward. There's Schmidt, who is incredibly extra with his suits and social life. There's Nick, who is such a bum, but has big dreams involving zombie novels and running a bar (despite his desire to watch TV and eat dumplings all day). I mean, let's be honest - Jess really lucked out on this one. They're the best of friends, and we're constantly wondering if we'd get such a good deal on Craigslist, too. Our favorite loft-mates always keep life interesting. The best Winston moments from New Girl are absolutely awkward, but only because they make us say, "same." In a lot of social situations, he's the underdog, and despite taking pranks way too far, he's almost the most average in the loft. He learns that he's terrible at puzzles and most definitely color blind while in Mexico, and is the best bridesmaid a girl could ever ask for. As the seasons go on, we watch him gain a lot of confidence and befriend a cat. He is quite possibly my favorite character on New Girl, just because he's so relatable. Just a bright, light hearted show, to be enjoyed for what it is.At one point or another, we've probably all felt as awkward as Winston. It's just humorous interactions, some fairly plain and everyday events, and some totally wacky events. Every episode seems to be a bunch of intertwining events that happen, like in most sitcoms, but this reminds me most of Seinfeld (the ultimate show about nothing), in that there is no ultimate destination that the storyline needs to arrive at - no huge expectations or conclusions being hung on the season finale. Overall, I think this is a show about nothing. There's a touch of light drama, for those that just want a light hearted show that won't make you think too much. But every episode does make me laugh out loud. There is a lot of awkward humour in this show - the kind of moments that make you cringe, yet you can't look away, and feel guilty about wanting to laugh. Winston had his 15 minutes of fame and now is dealing with just being a nobody in a big city again. His arrogance is always portrayed in a humorous way, and has become my favourite part of the show. Given that, he's a fairly realistic character with a well developed history. But he's an ex-fat-kid that now overcompensates for his lack of self esteem with douchey mannerisms. Other reviews are fairly down on Schmidt. He's portrayed as not living up to his potential, yet his manner draws you in, kind of like a helpless puppy that you find adorable and pitiful at the same time. He comes up with some creative ways to not spend money. Nick is a 30-something drop out that still lives with a student mindset. Nick's friend since childhood, Winston is in a unique position in the loft. Though he isn't a part of the New Girl pilot, it's hard to imagine the series without Winston Bishop. Her extroverted nature becomes more manageable as the series develops, so don't let it put you off initially. In New Girl, Winston Bishop is often the straight man compared to his wacky friends, but the sitcom character has his own hilarious one-liners. Jess is totally awkward, and it seems half the time her head is in the clouds, and half the time she's the most down to earth character. After a few episodes, the characters become more relatable than in the pilot. But I find the characters to be intriguing, so that I keep wanting to return to see what happens next. The premise of the show, a girl living with 3 guys and hilarity ensues, is not the most original, nor the most realistic. From the first episode, I found New Girl to be my favourite new series.
